Historical Note

Pompano Airways was a commuter and charter airline based in Florida that operated from 1972-1985. The airline originally offered charter flights only. In 1981 it began scheduled commuter service in Florida and the Bahamas. Around this same time, it became a subsidiary of Air Florida, which ceased operations in 1984. Shortly after, Air Florida's closure Pompano Airways ceased operations due to financial strife.
