Historical Note

Air Florida was an American passenger airline. It was established in 1971, although flight operations did not begin until 1972. Initially it was an instrastate carrier only, but in 1978 the airline expanded it services beyond Florida, including domestic and international locations. The airline ceased operations in 1984, after a period of financial strife.
