Historical Note

The Atlantic Coast Aeronautical Station, also known as the Curtiss Flying School, was founded by Glenn Curtiss in Newport News, Virginia in 1915. He hired Captain Thomas Scott Baldwin, a pioneer balloonist, to head the school and train pilots. The school was disbanded in 1922.

Scope and Contents From the Collection: The Biographical Files are an artifical collection with textual and photographic files on prominent people, groups, and events in the space and aviation industries.
