Historical Note
Founded in 1921, Compañía Mexicana de Aviación, S.A. de C.V., often shortened to Mexicana, was Mexico's largest airline and flag carrier until its closure in 2010.
A state-owned airline began operations in December 2023 under the legal name Aerolínea del Estado Mexicano using the Mexicana name.
