Scope Note: Established as Alessandro Flying Training Field in February 1918, the base changed names just a month later to March Field. It was later renamed to March Air Force Base and is currently known as March Air Reserve Base. The base has been active since its establishment in 1918.

Content Description This collection consists of notes by Joe P. Doetsch related to his work inspecting B-17B aircraft from about 1939-1940. There are 22 loose pages of notes which appear to have been cut from a notebook, an additional couple sheets of handwritten notes, and three pages of typed aircraft lists. The notebook pages document airplane serial number, its destination, propellor numbers, engine numbers, and other remarks such as pilot name. Additional pages document problems with the aircraft.
