Contents of the Collection The John D. Carroll World War II Collection relates to the World War II experience of 1st Lieutenant John D. Carroll, who served as a flight navigator and bombardier. Abstract

Jerry Michaud (1924-1982) Michaud served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Naval pilot in the Pacific Theater. Thelma McGraw (1920-1996) She worked as a stewardess with United Airlines (UAL). The collection contains textual materials, black-and-white photographs, and ephemera associated with their 1942-1952 naval and commercial airline careers, respectively.

Abstract

William Orthman (1911-1990) was drafted into the United States Army in 1942. He served in the China-Burma-India Theater as Public Relations Officer. The collection is comprised of 340 photographs and a small amount of textual materials from his 1945-1946 service.
