Abstract

The Emile Chourré and Chourré Family Papers is comprised of documents and scrapbooks, photographic prints and photograph albums, and assorted ephemera primarily pertaining to the life and military career of Lieutenant Commander Emile Chourré (1894-1938). Major topics include Chourré's military service, especially while stationed in Coco Solo, Panama; his service as a U.S. Naval announcer for the 1929-1931 and 1933-1934 National Air Races; and family (immediate and extended) photographs.

Gordon Highfill U.S. Naval Aviation Collection

Gordon Highfill served as a pilot for the United States Navy during World War II and in the Naval Reserves during the 1950s-1960s. The collection contains military records, a Naval Reservist newsletter, a Douglas C-47 Skytrain check list, and three (3) pilot log books from his service.

This collection is comprised of textual, visual, and audiovisual materials created and collected by EBJ and his wife and business partner, Nadine Audrey (Liscomb) Jeppesen. The documents date from 1843-1996, with the bulk of the material dating from 1940-1979.
