Abstract:

The John Fornasero Papers are comprised of documents, photographs, newspaper clippings, and ephemera pertaining to the life and work of flight instructor, aviation inspector, and test pilot John B. Fornasero. A significant portion of this collection is made up of photographs. Major topics include the Ryan School of Aeronautics, the Civil Aeronautics Administration, Fairchild Aircraft Company, and Boeing Aircraft Company.

Abstract Harold E. Hartney (1888-1945) rose through the ranks of the Canadian Army to become the Commander of the U.S. Air Service's 27th Aero Squadron in France during World War I. Contents of the Collection The Larry Michelsen Pacific Northern Airlines (PNA) textual materials is a small collection of assorted newspaper clippings about PNA, circa 1959 and a photocopy of a merger decision for Western-Pacific Northern by the Civil Aeronautics Board, 1967. Abstract

Ralph James Moore (1909-1963) graduated from the Boeing School of Aeronautics in 1931, was a member of the Army Air Corps during the 1930s, and worked with the Civil Aeronautics Board through the 1930s and 1940s. The collection consists of manuscripts, maps, photographs, and clippings collected by Moore during his career in the Army Air Forces. The majority of the collection is comprised of Aircraft Accident Reports from the Civil Aeronautics Authority (CAA).

Abstract

Dorothy (Hester) Stenzel (1910-1991) was born in Ardenwald, Oregon and learned to fly in the late 1920s. Stenzel then gained fame for stunt flying and broke several records through the mid-1930s. The collection contains seven (7) scrapbooks and assorted textual materials and photographs that document Stenzel's career as one of the first female stunt pilots.
