Overview This collection relates to Rober L. Baseler's career as a Fighter Ace, with a focus on his service during World War II.

Contents of the Collection The Melvin A. Erickson World War II Collection is a small collection relating to the World War II service of Melvin A. Erickson, a B-17 pilot. It includes a pilot's logbook; military records, such as Erickson's war record, identity card, and discharge; aerial photographs of targets; and a photograph album which holds training and mission photographs.

Contents of the Collection The Stanley L. Marcus World War II Collection contains over 150 World War II survey and aeronautical maps, collected by Stanley L. Marcus during his service as a pilot in World War II. It is unknown if he collected the maps or if they were given to him. Most of the maps cover various areas of Great Britain, but other locations within Europe are also represented (see Index). There are also four United States Army Air Force air navigation charts: London to Berlin (S-131), Athens to Cairo, Algiers...

Abstract William Dummer Powell was born in about 1906 in Canada, became a United States citizen in 1935 and served in the Army Air Force 449th Bomb Group as a Staff Sergeant during World War II. The collection consists of a small amount of military documents, personal documents, and twenty-five (25) photographs primarily related to Powell's World War II service in the Army Air Force.

Abstract Seymour Rutberg (1919-2009) was a Jewish American World War II pilot. The collection documents Seymour Rutberg's World War II service as a pilot as well as his post-war service and veteran activities. A smaller amount of material is personal in nature. Most items are dated 1941-1952 and types of material include military records, flying logs, clippings, correspondence, reports and photographs.

Abstract The Paul A. Ludwig Military Aviation Photograph Collection contains 2382 photographic prints and negatives with a very small amount of textual materials collected by Paul A. Ludwig and ranging from the late 1910s through the early 1980s. The bulk and strength of the collection is photographs of World War II-era aircraft and squadrons. The collection is nearly all copy prints from a variety of institutions and dozens of private collections.
