The David R. Mathis photographic portrait is comprised of a single 5x7" black-and-white photographic portrait of David R. Mathis in his United States Army Air Forces uniform, dated 1943. There is a handwritten caption on the reverse: "26 yrs David Robert Mathis 1943." The photoograph was found in the foot locker of Anita G. Parker, a servicewoman of the Army Nurse Corps, but the connection between Mathis and Parker is unknown.
