The Sybille Holder Pan American Airways Flight Attendant Collection is comprised of textual materials that relate to Pan American World Airways (PAA) flight attendants, 1964-1991. The material was likely collected by Holder during her time as a flight attendant, although only one piece is noted as previously belonging to Holder.
The collection contains a Pan Am "Employee Circles" binder, which holds meeting minutes and employee documentation. The materials have been removed from the binder for preservation reasons, but retain original order with the binder remaining in collection to preseve context. Holder is not listed on any of the meeting minutes. There are also assorted brochures for PAA flight schedules (1982,1986, and 1991), PAA travel destinations and city maps, and assorted PAA stationery from a writing padfolio. The materials were removed from the padfolio, which was sent to Objects storage (see Separated Materials).
Additional materials include three PAA In-Flight Services Handbooks (1985-1991), which include reference materials for flight attendants on all manner of topics, from how to treat an animal bite to how to address titled persons. The materials were originally in plastic three-ring PAA binders, but have been removed for preservation reasons. Original order has been retained and the binders remain in the collection, within secure enclosures, to preserve context. One of the binders has "Sybille Holder [employee number]" written in pen on inside left front cover.
At the end of the collection is assorted Pan Am ephemera, such as a 1964 first class dinner menu, ticket holders, luggage tags, a "waste bag" [air sickness bag], a 1990 safety card, postcards, four (4) blank International Vaccination certificates, and six (6) "Where Pan Am Flies" booklets. There is also a 2005 Pan Am Historical Foundation calendar.
