Contents of the Collection

The Virginia Randall TWA Flight Attendant Collection is a small amount of materials relating to Randall's time as a Trans World Airways (TWA) flight attendant from 1953-1954. The materials were collected by Randall.

The collection contains six (6) portraits of Randall in her TWA uniform. Two (2) of these are are black-and-white, four (4) have been colorized, all are 8x10" and all are digital reprints, not vintage photographs. The rest of the materials are textual and include a logbook (1953-1954) with details about the flights Randall was on; business cards, as "Virginia Van Meter;" and ephemera, including TWA luggage decals, postcards, and a newspaper clipping about Randall's choice to become a stewardess. There are also a few photocopies of pages from an unidentified book and a 1954 National Airlines brochure.

Biographical Note: Virginia (Van Meter) Randall

Virginia (Van Meter) Randall was from Wichita, Kansas. Randall worked as a flight attendant for Trans World Airlines (TWA) based out of St. Louis, Missouri during the 1950s.

No further information is known.
