Report February 18, 1939. A Douglas DC-3A (NC-16066) operated by United Air Lines crashed in the sea off Point Reyes, California while on a scheduled mail and passenger flight from Seattle, Washington to San Diego, California (with stops). The pilot, Charles B. Stead, and 1 passenger were pulled from the ocean alive, while the corpses of the copilot and 1 passenger were recovered and the stewardess and 2 other passengers were never found.

Packet with a bulletin and twenty-seven (27) short accident reports from the Civil Aeronautics Board for 1941.

Report for October 18, 1938. A Douglas DC-2 (NC-13735) operated by Eastern Air Lines crashed near Montgomery, Alabama while on a scheduled passenger and mail flight between San Antonio, Texas and Newark, New Jersey (with stops in Houston, Texas; New Orleans, Louisiana; Mobile, Alabama; Montgomery, Alabama; Atlanta, Georgia; Spartanburg, South Carolina; Charlotte, North Carolina; Greensboro, North Carolina; Richmond, Virginia; Washington, D.C.; Baltimore, Maryland; and Camden, New Jersey). The captain, J. D. Hissong, the first officer, steward and 11 passengers all escaped the aircraft after a forced landing.

Report for March 18, 1939. A Boeing Model 307 Stratoliner (NX-19901) on crashed near Alder, Washington while on a test flight. The Boeing test pilot, Julius Barr, his copilot, 5 Boeing employees, a TWA representative, and 2 KLM representatives were killed.
