Report for January 13, 1939. A Lockheed Model 14-H Super Electra (NC-17389) operated by Northwest Airlines crashed near Miles City, Montana while on a scheduled mail and passenger flight from Minneapolis, Minnesota to Seattle, Washington (the original route was Chicago, Illinois to Seattle). Scheduled stops were at Fargo, North Dakota, Bismarck, North Dakota, Miles City, Montana, Butte, Montana, and Spokane, Washington. The captain, C. B. Chamberlain, his copilot, and 2 passengers were all killed.

Report for January 11, 1938. A Sikorsky S-43A Amphibion (Baby Clipper) (NC-16734) operated by Pan American Airways crashed near Pago Pago, Samoa while on a scheduled mail flight from Honolulu, Territory of Hawaii to Auckland, New Zealand, with overnight stops at Kingman Reef and Pago Pago, Samoa. The captain, Edwin C. Musick, his first officer, junior flight officer, navigating officer, radio officer, flight engineer and assistant flight engineer were all killed.

Report for January 10, 1938. A Lockheed Model 14-H Super Electra (NC-17388) operated by Northwest Airlines crashed near Bozeman, Montana while on a scheduled mail and passengers flight between Seattle, Washington and Billings, Montana (with stops in Spokane, Washington and Butte, Montana). The captain, Nick B. Mamer, his copilot, and 8 passengers were all killed.

Report for July 28, 1938. A Martin (Glenn L.) Model 130 Clipper (NC-14714) operated by Pan American Airways was lost while on a scheduled mail and passenger flight between Guam and the Philippine Islands. The captain Leo Terletzky and his 8 crew members and 6 passengers were all lost, presumed dead.
