Scope and Contents

Carbon copy of a letter from Lybrand, Ross Bros. & Montgomery, Accountants and Auditors, New York City to James F. Prince, Treasurer of the Wright Aeronautical Corporation dated June 24, 1927. The letter is a “tentative computation of the bonus accruing to George W. Goethals & Company, Inc., for the ten months ended October 31, 1919, under its contract of April 1, 1918 with the Wright-Martin Aircraft Corporation.” The managerial contract was terminated as of November 1, 1919 and a lump sum payment of $75,000 was made pending determination of the actual amount of bonus due which was not done until after settlement of government claims in 1927. The letter contains details about net profit and loss, expenses, and adjustments to earnings including a special reserve and depreciation for the Simplex Auto Division. 11 pages plus cover.
