Scope and Contents

An indenture for the Wright Company mortgage on Patents 821,393 and 908,929 and 987,662 and 1,075,533 and 1,122,348 to Orville Wright. The document was signed on October 9, 1915 by Lorin Wright as Vice-President and Katharine Wright as Secretary and witnessed and signed by the Wright Company Board Members Phillip W. Russell and Pliny W. Williamson and notarized with Montgomery County, Ohio seal and signature. Sections of the document have been annotated in pen and ink “Discharged.” Affixed to the document is a United States Patent Office form (2-392) that certifies the transfer of patents was recorded in Liber Y, page 14 of Transfer of Patents on December 15, 1915. The form is signed by Thomas Ewing, Commissioner of Patents and bears the seal of the Patent Office. The back cover of the document has the pencil notation “Orville Wright, 1127 W. 3rd St., Dayton, Ohio. Fee $3-pd.” 4 pages plus back cover.
