"Consent to corporate mortgage", 1915 October 9
Scope and Contents
Consent to execute and deliver a mortgage constituting a first lien on all patents, applications for patents, and real estate in Dayton as security for a $250,000 bond. The document is signed by Orville Wright (as owner of 6600 shares) and Katharine Wright (as owner of 1100 shares) on October 9, 1915. The document is notarized by Frederick Howard and a certificate issued by the Clerk of Common Please Court in Montgomery County, Ohio is attached. The document also includes the sworn statement of Katharine Wright as treasurer of the Wright Company that she is custodian of the stock book of the company and the subscribers to the consent (Orville and Katharine) own the number of shares indicated which is more then two-thirds of the capital stock of the company. That portion of the document is signed by Katharine Wright, notarized, and a certificate issued by the Clerk of Common Please Court in Montgomery County, Ohio is attached. The document includes two certificates bearing the Ohio seal. The document also has two ten-cent documentary tax stamps affixed. 3 pages plus cover.
