Series II. Simplex Automobile Company, 1912-1918

 Series

Scope and Contents

Series II. Simplex Automobile Company contains only a small amount of materials. Because of the small size of the series and because the original files, which were kept intact, contain a mix of administrative, financial and legal documents, this series was not divided into subseries. Instead the files were arranged alphabetically by file name. The files in the series are comprised of various documents including: correspondence relating to purchase and transfer of stock; notices for stockholder meetings; proxies for meetings; affidavits related to stockholder meetings; meeting minutes; resignation notices from various employees in the roles of director, treasurer, secretary, and vice president; company bylaws; and resolutions of the board of directors. The file "Correspondence and memorandums regarding stock" contains materials that most directly relate to business dealings with the Wright Company. The file on bankruptcy proceedings relates to Boessneck, Broesel, and Company and Empire Foundry Company.
