Prisoner of war journal (1 of 2), 1918
Contents
One (1) pocket notebook with notes from Archibald's time as a prisoner of war, 1918. Three (3) pages of narrative notes on Archibald's captivity covering the period of September 14-21, 1918 describe his arrival at Karlsruhe, being confined and questioned, an American aviator who survived a plane crash and other Allied soldiers in captivity with him, being fed and clothed by the Red Cross. Five (5) additional pages include notes on accounting, addresses (presumably fellow prisoners to keep in touch with after the war), letters received, and what appears to be score keeping for a game. German notebook with 1918 and 1919 calendars printed on first and last pages.
