Assorted clippings, 1980-1984
Contents of the Collection
The Gary Teeter Braniff Airways Collection is a small collection that primarily contains textual materials collected and used by Second Officer (Flight Engineer) Gary Teeter during his 1979-1980 employment with Braniff Airways. The bulk of the collection is employee records, including crew logs, an employee handbook, crew time and pay sheets and insurance booklets. There are also instrumentation training diagrams that depict "overhead panel," "pilots' instrument panel - left, right, center," "control stand," and "third crewman's instrument panel - upper, lower." Additional materials pertain to Teeter's membership with the Air Line Pilots Association labor union and include correspondence, a 1976 labor agreement, memos and minutes. There are also five Jepco navigation charts, clippings about Braniff as well as general aviation topics, and a presentation about deregulation given by Braniff Airways Chief Executive Officer Harding L. Lawrence. A highlight of the collection are three Braniff Airways posters, circa 1973-1975, showing liveries designed by Alexander Calder (1898-1976), an American sculptor. One poster has the caption of "Flying Colors of the United States - Braniff International" below a Boeing 727 (N4088N) and features a rippled image of red, white, and blue colors on the aircraft. The other two posters include the caption "South America with Flying Colors - Braniff International" below a Douglas DC-8-62 (N1805) and feature a rippled image of yellow, red, blue, and white.
