Fleet Development, 1978-1987, undated
Scope and Contents
One of McCaw’s primary responsibilities was the ongoing process of research and acquisition of used and new aircraft to expand and upgrade the company’s fleet from the initial 3 Fokker F.27 Friendships in 1981 to more than 30 aircraft of primarily de Havilland (Canada) DHC-8 Dash 8 Series 100 and 300 aircraft by the time of Alaska’s buyout of Horizon Air in late 1986. The files in this sub-series reflect his work in this area.
