Biographical Note: T.S. Harris

T.S. Harris was a businessman from Lowell, Massachusetts. In 1939, he bought a 49 percent interest in Lear Developments and became the business partner of William P. Lear. The company changed its name to Lear Avia very soon after. Harris remained involved until 1945, when he sold his shares and left the company due to a difficult relationship with Bill Lear. No further information is known.

It documents the research, development, and manufacture of Lear Avia’s key World War II-era products, notably clutches, screw jacks, motors, and aircraft navigation and radio equipment and parts. In addition, there is documentation of other products which reflect the company’s post-war considerations for manufacture and production. These are not just limited to the field of aeronautics...
