John Borden was a contemporary of William E. Boeing. Borden and another associate, Morgan Davies, helped Boeing assist G.C. Westervelt in Westervelt's resignation from the U.S. Navy.

Abstract William E. Boeing, Sr. (1881-1956) was an aviation pioneer and founded The Boeing Company in 1916.
