Biographical Note

Carl D. Brell was born in Mankato, Minnesota on February 8, 1918. Brell enlisted in U.S. Army Air Corps on January 9, 1942 and served as a pilot during World War II. He was released from the Army on March 8, 1947 and became one of the founders of Seaboard World Airlines and the company's first Vice President, Operations. Carl Brell died April 4, 2007.

Abstract David O. Hill (1939-) was a pilot for Seaboard World Airlines (SWA). Hill was also SWA's archivist and historian. The collection relates to the company history, personnel, and operations of Seaboard World Airlines (SWA), from its establishment in 1946 to 1980 when it merged with Flying Tigers Line and is comprised primarily of textual materials, the bulk of which are scrapbooks; but also includes photographic materials, including prints, slides, and negatives; and a single DVD.
