Biographical Note

Eugene "Gene" Arthur Meyring was born on September 6, 1904 in Colorado. During the 1930s, Meyring joined the United States Naval Reserve. As of 1940, he was residing in Alaska and working as a pilot. Meyring flew for Alaska Washington Airways, Alaska Southern Airways, and Pacific Alaska Airways. He later joined Pan American Airways.

He married Alys L. Spillett (1909-1999) on July 24, 1928 in Los Angeles, California. The couple had a daughter, Barbara. Gene Meyring died on May 7, 1975.

Abstract

The John and Alan Blum Northwest Aviation Collection consists of visual and textual materials related to the lives and careers of John and Alan Blum. John founded the Northwest Air Service Company and Alan served as President after his brother died in a plane crash in 1931.
