Biographical Note

George William Charters was born approximately 1889 in Wisconsin. He trained as a pilot in Urbana, Illinois and served with the U.S. Air Service during World War I. After the war he worked in the paper industry in Canada.

In 1918 he married Christine Pinault. The Charters family relocated to Camas, Washington where George eventually retired in 1954. After the death of his wife in 1970, Charters relocated to San Rafael, California. He died in November 1974.
