Biographical Note

Marilyn (Chittick) Deel was born in Alexandria, Minnesota on June 20, 1938. She graduated from high school in Eugene, Oregon and then attended the University of Hawaii for one year. In 1959, Deel joined Pan American World Airways as a flight attendant and purser. She left Pan Am in 1963.

Chittick married Boyd Deel on December 7, 1962. As of 2012, Deel was residing in Hawaii. No further information is known.

Contents of the Collection The collection is comprised of materials, including scrapbook pages and loose photographs as well as two clippings, related to Marilyn (Chittick) Deel and her time as a flight attendant and purser for Pan American World Airways (Pan Am), 1959-1961. The bulk of the collection are the scrapbook pages. The pages are black paper and primarily hold photographs using photo corners, tape, and/or glue. It also holds a few pieces of ephemera in the form of correspondence and clippings....
