Biographical Note

Edmund R. "Ed" Brown was born circa 1915. He worked as a $65/month, 48 hour/week mechanics helper at Northwest Airways during the summer of 1933. He was based at Saint Paul, Minnesota. Brown worked half time for Bill Peterson, the electrical foreman, and half time for Manfred Boe, the instrument foreman. Ed Brown died in January 1998.

Content Description The collection is comprised of four photographs of Northwest Airways aircraft, dated August 1933. Aircraft include a Ford Tri-motor 5AT (NC8410), Travel Air 6000 (NC8754), Stearman C3 (NC6255), and Sikorsky S-38 (NC303N). Photographs were taken at the Northwest Airways Overhaul Base at Saint Paul, Minnesota.
