Biographical Note

Earle Lewis Ovington was an early American aviator.

Earle L. Ovington was born on December 20, 1879 in Illinois. He flew the first official airmail flight in the United States on September 23, 1911. He died on July 21, 1936. No further information is known.

Contents of the Collection The Paul Davis Early Aviation Photograph Collection is comprised of 16 black-and-white 3.25x4.5" photographs featuring early aircraft. The photographs were taken by an unidentified photographer in 1910 and 1911 in New York, including some during the 1910 Belmont International Aviation Meet.
