Historical Note

Brantly Helicopter was established in 1945 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The company relocated to Frederick, Oklahoma where the Brantly B-2 earned certification. In 1966, Lear Jet Corporation acquired Brantly and eventually moved the company to its Wichita, Kansas headquarters. A few years later in 1969, Lear Jet sold Brantly Helicopter to Aeronautical Research & Development Corporation (ARDC), who ceased operations sometime in 1970.

In 1972, Michael K. Hynes bought rights as Brantly Operators, Inc. and changed the company name to Brantly-Hynes Helicopter Inc. in 1975. It changed names again in 1989 to Brantly International, Inc.
