Historical Note

Pacific Alaska Airways was established as ACA Aviation Corporation of the Americas in 1927. The airline was a subsidiary of Pan American World Airways (PAA). It was renamed Pacific Alaska Airways in 1932. It began air mail routes in 1933 and passenger service in 1935. In 1941 it was absorbed into its parent company and ceased operations.

Abstract Native Washingtonians Murray Stuart (1909-1960), and Noel Rae (b. 1909), married in 1929 and were both pilots. The collection contains clippings, photographs, correspondence, business records, and certificates relating to both their flight careers and personal lives.
