Historical Note
Pacific Alaska Airways was established as ACA Aviation Corporation of the Americas in 1927. The airline was a subsidiary of Pan American World Airways (PAA). It was renamed Pacific Alaska Airways in 1932. It began air mail routes in 1933 and passenger service in 1935. In 1941 it was absorbed into its parent company and ceased operations.

The John and Alan Blum Northwest Aviation Collection consists of visual and textual materials related to the lives and careers of John and Alan Blum. John founded the Northwest Air Service Company and Alan served as President after his brother died in a plane crash in 1931.
