Historical Note

Transportes Aereos del Continente Americano, known as TACA International Airlines, was founded in 1931 in Honduras. The airline began as a cargo only operation, but added passenger service in 1940. The airline moved its headquarters to El Salvador in 1945. The airline ceased to exist in 2013 when it was merged into Avianca El Salvador.
