Historical Note

Long Island Airlines was an American commuter airline based at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, New York. Its exact start date is unknown but was likely in the early 1980s. In 1985, the airline absorbed seasonal carrier Montauk-Caribbean Airways. It ceased operations in 1990 due to financial strife.
