Historical Note
Germania Fluggesellschaft mbH, more commonly seen as Germania, was a privately owned German airline with its headquarters in Berlin. The airline began operations in 1978 as Special Air Transport. In 1986 it rebranded to Germania. The airline began with charter flights but later added scheduled service to destinations in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. It ceased operations in 2019 due to financial strife.
