Historical Note

Safair is a South African charter and cargo airline. Originally established in 1965 as Tropair (Pty) Ltd. as a general aviation charter company, the airline changed its name in 1970 to Safair Freighters (Pty) Ltd., more commonly seen as Safair. It is based at the O.R. Tambo International Airport in Kempton Park, South Africa and continues operations as of 2026.
