Historical Note

Established in 1964, Air Manila was a domestic passenger carrier based in Manila, Philippines. Sometime in the early 1970s the airline obtained used Boeing 707s to start international service as Air Manila International. However, the Philippine Airlines (PAL), the national flag carrier, was against this. Air Manila was pressured to merge into PAL and ceased operations in 1973.
