Republic Airlines began in 1979, the result of a merger between North Central Airlines and Southern Airways. It operated until it merged into Northwest Airlines in 1986.

The Northwest Airlines Collection consists primarily of company personnel, promotional, and flight service materials produced by Northwest Airlines from 1975 to 2007.
