Historical Note

Established in 1936, PLUNA (Primeras Líneas Uruguayas de Navegación Aérea) was the flag carrier of Uruguay until it ceased operatons in 2012. It was headquartered in Carrasco, Montevideo and operated scheduled passenger, cargo, and charter services within South America from its hub at Carrasco International Airport.
