Historical Note

Emerald Air was an American regional passenger carrier based in Austin, Texas. Established in 1978 as Emerald Valley Airlines, it became known as Emerald Air in 1981 and originally served only Texas. The airline later added flights to Wichita, Kansas; Omaha, Nebraska; and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. It ceased operations in 1991 due to financial strife.
