Historical Note

Established in 1928 as a subsidiary of its parent company, Thompson Products Inc., Thompson Aeronautical Corporation provided air mail and air taxi services between Cleveland, Ohio and Detroit, Michigan. In 1931 the airline changed its name to Transamerican Airline Corporation, which was bought by American Airways in 1933.
