Historical Note

Southern Air Fast Express, Inc., also seen as S.A.F.E., was a short-lived American passenger and mail service airline based in Oklahoma, 1928-1930. In 1929, it was purchased by American Airlines and operated as a division of its parent company. Soon, American Airlines renamed it as Southern Transcontintental Airways until it was taken over by American Airways.
