Historical Note

Línea Aérea Nacional de Chile (LAN Chile Airlines) was an early variant of Chilean multinational airline, LATAM Airlines, which continues to operate as of 2025. Established in 1929 Línea Aeropostal Santiago-Arica, the airline changed its name in 1932, using LAN Chile as its commercial name until 2004 when it changed names again to LAN Airlines. In 2016, the airline changed to its current name of LATAM Airlines.
