  • Existence: 1928 - 1930

Historical Note

Transcontinental Air Transport, or T.A.T., was an American passenger service airline from 1928 to 1930. In 1929 the airline merged with Maddux Air Lines. It merged again in 1930, with Western Air Express to form Transcontinental & Western Air (T&WA). However, Western became an independent company once again in 1934 while Transcontinental retained the T&WA name and eventually evolved into Trans World Airlines (TWA).
