Historical Note

Started in 1967 as Connie Kalitta Services, the airline became American International Airways in 1984. In 1997, the airlines merged with Kitty Hawk Inc. In April 2000, Kitty Hawk International ceased operations. Original founder Conrad Kalitta created a new airline, Kalitta Air, in 2000 using the operating certificate and assets of former American International Airways. The airline is still in service.
