Historical Note

Capitol International Airways was an American airline from 1946 to 1984. Founded as Capitol Airways, it offered charter and scheduled passenger service. In 1967 the airline rebranded as Capitol International Airways. It changed again in 1981 to Capitol Air and operated under that name until its closure due to bankruptcy in 1984.
