Historical Note

British West Indian Airways was established in late 1939. It became a subsidiary of British Overseas Airways Corporation in 1949. At one point it was the largest carrier in the Caribbean. The airline ceased operations in 2006, succeeded by Caribbean Airlines.

Grantham during his 35-year career at the Boeing Company as a flight engineer, circa 1960s-1980s.
