McCook Field was an airfield and aviation experimentation station in Ohio. It was operated by the Aviation Section, U.S. Signal Corps and its successor the United States Army Air Service from 1917 to 1927.

The Army Air Corps Photographs is comprised of fifty-nine black-and-white photographs primarily depicting the 1923 Pulitzer Air Race and Mitchell Trophy Race with ten snapshots featuring the Sacramento Air Depot in 1940.

Sizes range from 3x5" to 16x20" and many images include brief captions that provide contextual information, such as aircraft model, location, or date. Abstract

The Paul A. Ludwig Military Aviation Photograph Collection contains 2382 photographic prints and negatives with a very small amount of textual materials collected by Paul A. Ludwig and ranging from the late 1910s through the early 1980s. The bulk and strength of the collection is photographs of World War II-era aircraft and squadrons. The collection is nearly all copy prints from a variety of institutions and dozens of private collections.
