Historical Note

DeMille Airfield was founded by Cecil B. DeMille, who also founded Mercury Aviation Company in 1918. It was located in Hollywood, California and active circa 1918 through the early 1920s. On May 18, 1919, it hosted the Air Memorial Day event honoring U.S. servicemen who died in World War I.
