Historical Note
Israel Aerospace Industries was established in 1953 as Bedek Aviation Company, five years after the establishment of the State of Israel. American-born Adolph "Al" Schwimmer was its founder and first CEO. Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) is Israel's major aerospace and aviation manufacturer, producing aerial and astronautic systems for both military and civilian usage.
